Tax Attorney

A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Tax Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a robust academic background, including an LLM (preferred), and will exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills, client relations expertise, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent matters effectively. This role involves providing comprehensive tax advice on complex transactions and ensuring client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice on tax implications and strategies for mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and international transactions.
• Conduct detailed legal research and analysis to support tax planning and compliance efforts.
• Draft and review various tax-related legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, and transactional agreements.
• Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to devise effective tax strategies and solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent tax matters, ensuring adherence to deadlines and client expectations.
• Represent clients in negotiations with tax authorities and other relevant entities.
• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to offer accurate and up-to-date advice.

Requirements:

• JD degree from a nationally recognized law school.
• 3-5 years of experience in tax law, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and international transactions.
• LLM degree preferred.
• High level of motivation, initiative, and the ability to handle multiple ongoing matters.
• Strong client relations skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.
