Location:

Duties:

  • Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including tax minimization, creditor protection, and achieving family goals
  • Draft estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other complex legal documents
  • Prepare gift and estate tax returns
  • Handle trust and estate administration, including asset collection, valuation, basis updating, and distribution
  • Represent clients in probate proceedings and guide them through the probate process
  • Report to and work closely with the firm’s managing partner on complex cases and strategic decisions
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in Trusts and Estates law
  • Collaborate with clients, beneficiaries, financial advisors, and other professionals to achieve client objectives
  • Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, meeting deadlines and addressing client needs

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Trusts and Estates law, including estate planning, trust administration, and probate
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Illinois
  • Strong drafting skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively
  • Familiarity with estate planning software and tools is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
