A law firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking a highly experienced Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will provide expert legal counsel on a variety of renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cells, as well as a strong understanding of smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. The role requires exceptional client service skills, interpersonal collaboration, and effective communication. Candidates must hold a JD degree, be an active member in good standing of the Bar, and have a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal expertise on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage power purchase agreements, facility operation agreements, and other relevant contracts.
  • Offer strategic legal guidance on regulatory compliance, facilities operations, and industry best practices.
  • Advise clients on smart grid technology, energy storage solutions, and energy efficiency strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on emerging trends and technologies in the renewable energy sector.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to address legal issues and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes and challenges associated with renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain a portable book of business, demonstrating a strong client base in the renewable energy industry.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.
  • Proven track record of a portable book of business.
  • Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency practices.
