Duties:

  • Draft, review, and edit legal pleadings, including accounting, probate, and conservatorship petitions, and ex parte applications.
  • Manage trust administration, probate cases, and conservatorship matters from initiation to case closure.
  • Review probate notes and tentative rulings, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
  • Appear in court hearings and represent clients effectively in legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with partners and other associate attorneys to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Delegate tasks to paralegals, secretaries, and clerical staff while overseeing their work.
  • Conduct initial consultations and participate in client meetings to guide legal strategy and case management.

Requirements:

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in estate planning and probate law.
  • Proven courtroom experience and the ability to manage legal cases independently.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong legal drafting and document review abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
