Family Law Counsel

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law matters such as divorce, child custody, support, and property division.
• Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
• Advise clients on their legal rights, obligations, and available options.
• Advocate for clients in court hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the case.
• Stay current on family law statutes, case law, and legal trends.
• Collaborate with support staff and team members to ensure high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law.
• Strong knowledge of family law, court procedures, and state laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with high-net-worth divorce cases or complex child custody matters.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Mediation certification or other relevant certifications.
