A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team in Brooklyn, New York. This role is a unique opportunity to work on complex legal matters within various areas of practice, including commercial litigation, labor and employment law, commercial class-action defense, general business law, and healthcare law. Duties:

  • Supervise the litigation team, ensuring efficient case management.
  • Oversee pre-trial proceedings, including discovery, motion practice, court conferences, and depositions.
  • Draft legal documents, such as bills of particulars, pleadings, discovery motions, and appellate briefs.
  • Manage the intake of contract requests and conduct client interviews related to contracts.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies.
  • Handle and resolve disputes effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional legal counsel.
  • Keep partners informed of significant developments and case matters promptly.
  • Exercise sound business and legal judgment in all aspects of case management.
  • Demonstrate leadership and foster a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of legal experience in New York, with at least 4 years in litigation.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
  • Proven ability in legal writing and strong analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with sound judgment and the ability to manage cases independently.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
