Job Overview
A law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its national Employee Benefits practice. The position offers flexibility in office location, with consideration for candidates across multiple offices. Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on employee benefits matters, including ERISA, retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, and fringe benefits.
  • Assist clients with mergers and acquisitions, especially regarding employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Draft and review employee benefits-related documents and agreements.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and provide actionable advice on complex legal matters.
  • Support clients with compliance issues and strategic planning in employee benefits law.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and team members to resolve client matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service and communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in employee benefits law, including ERISA, retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, and fringe benefits.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Must be admitted to practice law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in one of the jurisdictions listed above.
