Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join its Health Care practice group. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative environment for professionals looking to advise clients on critical issues involving Medicare and Medicaid compliance, reimbursement, and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will work closely with partners and associates to deliver strategic guidance and support for health care providers, health systems, and managed care plans.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance issues, including supplemental payment programs and value-based purchasing models.
  • Assist clients in managed care regulatory compliance and contracting, particularly within Medicare and Medicaid frameworks.
  • Stay updated on federal and state healthcare legislative, regulatory, and policy developments, advising clients accordingly.
  • Support healthcare clients in strategic business transactions and related legal matters.
  • Investigate potential compliance issues, fraud, waste, or abuse for healthcare organizations.
  • Offer counsel on healthcare-related topics such as physician contracting, HIPAA compliance, and data management.
  • Engage with corporate governance and tax exemption issues for health care providers and plans.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in health care regulatory law, contracting, and/or reimbursement.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to draft and review complex legal documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.
  • Superior time management and organizational abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri and good standing with the State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active law license in the state corresponding to the job location (Missouri).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and health care regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of healthcare business strategy and transactions.
  • Proficiency in managing complex legal issues related to health care providers and plans.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
