A law firm seeks a motivated Family Law Associate Attorney to join a dynamic team. This position provides the opportunity to work on a variety of domestic matters, including divorce, child custody and support, adoptions, and protective orders. Duties

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption cases.
  • Attend hearings, pretrial conferences, and other court proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents related to family law issues.
  • Manage caseloads efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide top-tier legal services to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Requirements

  • Active member in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, or eligibility to sit for the Virginia Bar Exam.
  • Strong interest in family law, with a focus on divorce, custody, child support, and adoption cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to legal work.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus, though not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Virginia State Bar membership, or eligibility to take the Virginia Bar Exam.

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting family law documents.
