Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A prominent law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking an Associate Attorney licensed to practice in Oregon. This role offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced and newly licensed attorneys to be actively involved in the litigation process, from suit initiation through trial and arbitration. The attorney will handle court appearances, legal reviews, and client communication. Duties

  • Draft, review, and file motions throughout the litigation process.
  • Prepare for trials and arbitrations as required.
  • Communicate with attorneys, consumers, employers, and other stakeholders to resolve legal matters.
  • Represent the firm in court appearances within Oregon and nearby counties.
  • Ensure accurate review of all legal pleadings and filings before submission.
  • Travel may be required, including occasional overnight stays, depending on case locations.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Oregon.
  • Additional licensing in other states (WA, MO, IA, NE, ID, CA, FL, GA, AK, HI, NV) is advantageous but not required.
  • Reliable transportation for timely court appearances.
  • Comfortable appearing in court and handling legal proceedings independently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar.
  • Additional State Bar Admissions (optional).

Skills

  • Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Litigation experience or interest in courtroom proceedings.
