Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Real Estate Partner to join a prominent law firm's Real Estate Practice. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in representing property owners, developers, lenders, and investors in various commercial real estate transactions. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage complex transactions while contributing to business development and succession planning.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in acquisitions, dispositions, sales, financing, leasing, and development of commercial real estate.
  • Handle all aspects of complex transactions, ensuring thorough due diligence, including title, survey, and entity matters.
  • Negotiate, manage, and close sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.
  • Draft and review material agreements and legal documents related to transactions.
  • Advise clients on entitlement, zoning, and tax issues pertaining to real estate and construction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their business advisor throughout their legal matters.

Requirements:

  • 7-12 years of experience in commercial real estate law.
  • Proven track record in various transactional matters, including commercial office and retail leasing, development, and financing.
  • Additional experience in commercial lending and banking transactions is a plus.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be currently licensed to practice in Illinois or eligible for licensure through comity or by examination.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility to waive in based on UBE score.
