A law firm in Evansville is seeking a highly qualified Family Law/Litigation Associate Attorney/Of Counsel with a strong background in domestic relations work. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of relevant laws and guidelines and will have significant courtroom, deposition, settlement negotiation, and case management experience. Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the Indiana Bar, with dual licensure in Kentucky or Illinois considered a plus. This role requires a high degree of integrity, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively. A client-focused approach and sound judgment are essential.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and domestic relations cases.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal documents, including petitions, motions, and briefs.
  • Manage case files, oversee discovery, and handle depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements.
  • Provide courtroom representation, including making oral arguments and examining witnesses.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Maintain comprehensive case management and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Work with other attorneys and support staff to provide effective legal solutions.
  • Uphold a client-focused approach with high integrity and sound judgment.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission and good standing with the Indiana Bar.
  • 3-6 years of experience in family law and litigation practice areas.
  • Significant experience in courtroom representation, deposition handling, settlement negotiation, and case management.
  • High degree of integrity, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases.

Education:
