Job Overview

The role centers on high-stakes disputes involving patents and trade secrets, often for pioneering technology clients. This opportunity is open through a recruiting firm managing hiring on the firm’s behalf.

Duties

  • Represent clients in complex IP litigation, particularly in matters involving patents and trade secrets.

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on IP-related issues.

  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials in federal court and before administrative bodies.

  • Collaborate with technical experts, in-house counsel, and cross-functional litigation teams.

  • Contribute to litigation strategy in high-profile, high-tech matters.

  • Manage caseloads and deadlines with autonomy while integrating into a team-driven culture.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patents and/or trade secrets.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively contribute to team success.

  • Strong writing, advocacy, and analytical skills.

  • Proven experience with legal research, drafting, and courtroom preparation.

  • Licensed to practice law in California (California Bar membership required).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.

  • Strong academic performance preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar is mandatory.

Skills

  • Advanced legal writing and persuasive communication.

  • In-depth knowledge of IP law, especially relating to technological subject matter.

  • Comfortable interpreting and presenting technical and scientific concepts in legal arguments.

  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
