Duties

  • Represent clients in hearings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Manage and direct a team of legal professionals in case preparations and client service.
  • Conduct client interviews and devise effective case strategies, particularly for asylum and relief cases.
  • Draft, submit, and argue appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Engage in legal research and collaborate with country conditions experts to support cases.
  • Maintain precise records of case notes and documentation.
  • File detailed motions, briefs, and appeals.
  • Interface with various government agencies, including ICE, DHS, and EOIR.
  • Prioritize exceptional client service throughout the legal process.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in removal defense.
  • Demonstrated experience with at least 30 Individual Calendar Hearings (ICHs), focusing on asylum cases.
  • Strong presence in the courtroom with proficient litigation skills.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal advocacy.
  • History of successful case outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) appeals writing.
  • Leadership experience in managing legal teams.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active state bar membership.

Certifications

  • Must hold an active law license and be in good standing.
