A reputable law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in general municipal law. This role involves providing legal counsel to public agencies on municipal governance, public contracts, and regulatory compliance. The position offers the opportunity to work on diverse legal matters in collaboration with experienced attorneys and government officials.

Location:

Duties:

  • Advise public agencies and municipalities on local government law, public contracts, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide legal guidance on open meeting laws, public records laws, and ethics regulations.

  • Draft and negotiate contracts, ordinances, and resolutions for public agencies.

  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, city council meetings, and other municipal proceedings.

  • Advise on municipal finance matters including tax assessments, revenue generation, and bond issuance.

  • Assist in developing and reviewing municipal policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Represent clients in municipal governance, zoning, and other regulatory litigation matters.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and municipal clients to devise legal solutions.

  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in general municipal law.

  • Experience in public contracts, local governance, public finance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal municipal laws, including the Brown Act and Public Records Act.

  • Experience advising public agencies, drafting ordinances, and representing clients in municipal hearings.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with clients, colleagues, and government officials.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
