Corporate (Restructuring) Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A leading law firm is seeking a Corporate Restructuring Associate to represent a range of clients, including debtors, creditors committees, lenders, and asset purchasers, in both in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters. This position involves handling complex restructuring cases, including cross-border transactions, and is open to candidates across multiple U.S. offices.

Location:

• Dallas, TX

Duties:

• Represent clients in restructuring cases, including Chapter 11 proceedings
• Present and argue contested matters in court settings
• Engage directly with clients, providing strategic legal guidance
• Draft pleadings, including first-day motions, for restructuring cases
• Prepare and manage plans of reorganization and associated confirmation documents
• Assist in the sale and purchase of distressed assets
• Manage orderly liquidation processes
• Conduct claims reconciliation and manage objection processes
• Engage in settlement negotiations and resolution processes
• Participate in negotiations with official creditors committees, banks, and other interested parties

Requirements:

• 2 to 4 years of experience in restructuring, including in-court and out-of-court cases
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction(s)

Skills:

• Strong litigation and courtroom advocacy skills
• Proficient in drafting legal documents such as pleadings and reorganization plans
• Effective communication and client engagement abilities
• Ability to negotiate complex restructuring agreements
• Familiarity with bankruptcy and restructuring laws
