A law firm seeks a skilled employment attorney to join its team in a fully remote role, supporting clients in New York and California. This position focuses on representing executives and employees in a wide range of employment matters, including litigation and advisory services. Duties

  • Advise and represent executives on employment-related matters, including offer letters, non-compete agreements, and departures.
  • Led and managed employment litigation cases, including drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct legal and factual research to develop effective case strategies.
  • Prepare and first-chair depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing ongoing legal counsel and updates.
  • Attend hearings, court appearances, and arbitrations as required.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to ensure case progression and resolution.
  • Draft and review employment and settlement agreements with precision and clarity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in employment law, either on the plaintiff or defense side.
  • Proven track record managing cases in federal and state courts, particularly in New York (California experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, including litigation procedures and court practices.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in a remote working environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active NY Bar license required.
  • California Bar license is a strong advantage.

Skills

  • Proficiency in drafting and analyzing employment and settlement agreements.
  • Expertise in conducting legal research and preparing strategy memos.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
