Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
An established, multi-state law firm specializing in real estate and creditors' rights is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing team. The firm offers a dynamic and supportive environment, ideal for an attorney eager to take on a diverse caseload and contribute to the firm’s expansion. This role provides the opportunity to work in a collaborative setting while handling significant legal matters across various jurisdictions, with a focus on creditor’s rights and complex litigation.

Duties:

  • Manage a high volume of cases, primarily in the field of creditors' rights.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appear in court for hearings and trials as required, with potential travel obligations.
  • Assist in appellate work and other complex legal matters as needed.
  • Maintain client relationships, providing expert advice and ensuring excellent client service.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop strategies and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Stay current on legal developments related to TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, the Bankruptcy Code, and similar regulations.
  • Contribute to the firm’s reputation and visibility through proactive industry engagement.
  • Support the firm’s expansion by assisting in the development of new business and maintaining a high standard of legal practice.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the Missouri State Bar.
  • Ability to obtain licensing in the Missouri federal district and bankruptcy courts quickly, if not already obtained.
  • Preferably 5+ years of litigation experience; newly licensed attorneys will also be considered.
  • Strong experience in creditor's rights, litigation, and court appearances.
  • Familiarity with the Arkansas legal system is a plus.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in dispute resolution, legal writing, and oral advocacy.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and mentor junior attorneys.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for court appearances and client meetings.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar is required.
  • Additional Bar memberships in other States are beneficial.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex legal concepts.
  • Strong leadership qualities with an emphasis on team collaboration.
