A law firm located in O'Fallon, IL, is currently seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The Associate Attorney will handle local and national accounts throughout Illinois, Missouri, and New York. They will independently manage a litigation caseload, conduct depositions, prepare witnesses for deposition and trial, and handle trial preparation and support. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, be admitted to practice in Illinois, Missouri, and/or New York, and possess 3+ years of experience in general litigation, complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a litigation caseload, handling local and national accounts across multiple states.
  • Independently conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests and prepare responses.
  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel, including experience with e-filing.
  • Assist with trial preparation and provide support during trial proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate time records for billing purposes.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state(s) of Illinois, Missouri, and/or New York.
  • 3+ years of experience in general litigation, complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
  • Experience with motion practice and taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Superior research and writing skills.

 

Education & Certifications:

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial preparation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Experience with deposition preparation and conducting depositions.
