A law firm seeks a seasoned attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join its expanding Employee Benefits practice group in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate is proactive, a fast learner, and has a strong interest in employee benefits law. Expertise in ERISA, tax, and benefits law is essential, with additional experience in ESOPs or equity compensation being highly desirable.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation and compliance matters.
  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other filings with precision and attention to detail.
  • Represent clients during court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Collaborate with partners and colleagues on complex legal cases and strategies.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritize a diverse and dynamic caseload efficiently.
  • Contribute to case strategy discussions and planning sessions.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in employee benefits law, including ERISA and tax matters.
  • Licensure: Active membership in the state bar where the position is located (Tennessee).
  • Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage legal strategies and interact effectively with attorneys and clients.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in Tennessee or eligibility for immediate admission.
