Job Overview: A growing law firm in Waldorf, MD, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload involving personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, from pre-trial through to trial. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience, a passion for trial advocacy, and a commitment to providing excellent client representation. Location:

  • Waldorf, MD

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload, including personal injury and select workers’ compensation cases
  • Represent clients in District and Circuit courts and before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission
  • Negotiate claims for injured workers and motor vehicle collision victims
  • Complete discovery with clients at various levels for each type of case
  • Conduct client interviews in person, virtually, or via telephone
  • Draft motions, legal memos, and appeals related to personal injury and workers’ compensation cases
  • Contribute to outreach events to help grow the firm’s presence in the community
  • Enhance litigation skills through continuing education and professional development
  • Guide clients through the litigation and pre-litigation process with respect and care
  • Assist with other assigned tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience as an attorney
  • Maryland Bar license (required); DC or Virginia Bar licenses are a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing excellent client service and advocacy
  • Willingness to handle a broad variety of personal injury and workers' compensation cases
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to go the extra mile for clients while maintaining boundaries

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Maryland Bar License (required)
  • DC or Virginia Bar license (desired)

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting motions, and client interviews
  • Ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients
