Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Business Transactions Associate to join its practice group. The ideal candidate will possess experience in handling complex business transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. Experience in securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is considered advantageous. A background in accounting or tax, or an LL.M. in Taxation, is highly preferred. The candidate must have excellent academic credentials, demonstrated writing abilities, and strong communication skills. Location:

Duties:

  • Manage and support complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Assist in securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures
  • Draft, review, and negotiate business transaction agreements
  • Provide legal counsel on a range of business-related matters
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Work independently on client matters while contributing to team efforts
  • Deliver exceptional client service in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business transactions, specifically mergers and acquisitions
  • Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures preferred
  • Background in accounting or tax, or an LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to client service and attention to detail

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred but not required)

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and prioritize effectively
