Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Portland, OR, seeks a dedicated and skilled Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of practical experience in commercial litigation and a strong understanding of legal procedures and strategies. Membership in the Oregon State Bar Association is required, with licensure in the California State Bar considered a plus.

Duties:

• Represent clients in commercial litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
• Manage case files, including maintaining deadlines and overseeing discovery processes.
• Negotiate settlements and work closely with clients to provide legal advice and strategy.
• Prepare and present cases in court, including examining and cross-examining witnesses.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies and approaches.
• Attend and participate in client meetings, court hearings, and mediation sessions.
• Stay current with changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Membership in the Oregon State Bar Association is required.
• Licensure in the California State Bar is a plus.
• Proven ability to handle complex litigation cases.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Membership in the Oregon State Bar Association.
• Additional certification or licensure in the California State Bar is advantageous.
