Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking a Mid-level Healthcare Regulatory Associate to join its legal team. This role requires 3-5 years of experience in health regulatory law within the healthcare and life sciences industries. The ideal candidate will have experience with fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA compliance, corporate practice of medicine, licensing, reimbursement, and regulatory diligence for corporate transactions. Experience counseling telehealth and digital health companies is highly desirable.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on healthcare regulatory matters, including fraud and abuse, HIPAA, and reimbursement.

  • Assist with regulatory diligence and structuring of corporate transactions.

  • Advise on telehealth and digital health regulatory matters.

  • Support private equity, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and investment-related healthcare transactions.

  • Conduct research and draft legal memoranda, regulatory filings, and compliance programs.

  • Collaborate with clients and legal teams to develop solutions for complex healthcare regulatory challenges.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare regulatory law.

  • Background in private equity, M&A, and investment-related healthcare transactions preferred.

  • Government experience at CMS, OCR, DOJ, or FDA is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., Illinois, or New York.

Skills:

  • Expertise in healthcare regulatory compliance and transactions.

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Business judgment and the ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in persuasive communication and problem-solving.
