Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group, focusing on fiduciary litigation. The role involves handling trust and estate disputes, as well as other fiduciary-related legal matters, in collaboration with individuals, nonprofit organizations, and corporate fiduciaries.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in disputes involving trusts, estates, and power of attorney abuse.
  • Collaborate with nonprofit organizations, corporate fiduciaries, and individuals on fiduciary litigation matters.
  • Manage and resolve trust and estate disputes through litigation.
  • Utilize experience in estate planning and administration for fiduciary litigation cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to fiduciary disputes.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, and represent clients in court.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in estate planning and administration, or 3-6 years of litigation experience with exposure to trust and estate disputes.
  • Prior experience in fiduciary litigation is a plus but not required for candidates with estate planning backgrounds looking to transition into this area.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina.
