A law firm in Minot, ND, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their litigation team. The Associate Attorney will assist partners and managing attorneys with litigation matters while developing their own practice. The role involves representing clients in various court settings, advocating on their behalf, and managing case preparation and strategy. The ideal candidate will be licensed or eligible to become licensed in North Dakota, possess strong negotiation skills, and be eager to work in a dynamic environment.

Duties:

  • Assist partners and managing attorneys with managing and strategizing litigation matters.
  • Advocate zealously for clients across a range of court settings.
  • Represent clients in court, including presenting evidence to judges and/or juries if cases go to trial.
  • Negotiate settlements to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of court documents, including legal briefs and appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze cases to determine effective strategies for client representation.
  • Interpret laws and advise clients on their legal rights and options.
  • Attend and lead meetings, hearings, conference calls, and other legal proceedings.
  • Develop and build a personal litigation practice over time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Licensed or able to become licensed to practice law in the State of North Dakota.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
