A law firm seeks a skilled attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join its Healthcare Business Unit in Houston, TX. This role requires a strong foundation in both regulatory and transactional aspects of healthcare law. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various corporate documents, including entity formation, governance, operating agreements, compliance documents, and M&A transactions. A deep understanding of healthcare laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and HIPAA/HITECH is essential. Candidates who demonstrate strong business development acumen and attention to detail will excel in this position.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate corporate and transactional documents including entity formation, operating agreements, and compliance documentation.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to healthcare-specific regulations.
  • Participate in mergers, acquisitions, and other complex transactions involving healthcare entities.
  • Interact directly with clients to provide strategic legal advice and facilitate business growth.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple projects.
  • Engage in business development efforts to expand the firm’s healthcare practice.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and stakeholders to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Stay current on healthcare laws and regulations to ensure optimal legal guidance.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in healthcare law, particularly regulatory and transactional matters.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA, and HITECH.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex healthcare-related corporate documents.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to provide high-quality legal counsel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
  • Current license to practice law in Texas.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
