Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its team in Mission Viejo, CA. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in business litigation who is also passionate about mentoring and guiding junior attorneys. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex cases, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings. While experience in construction and real estate law is not required, it is highly desirable. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing flexibility while maintaining strong client engagement.

Duties

  • Oversee and manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progression of cases.

  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.

  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

  • Provide strategic guidance to clients and develop case strategies.

  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and legal staff, providing training and oversight.

  • Stay current with local, state, and federal laws applicable to business litigation.

  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks for clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior attorney, with at least 7-10 years since passing the bar.

  • Proven track record handling complex litigation matters, particularly in business disputes.

  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities to guide junior attorneys.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California and in good standing with the California Bar.
