Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis pertaining to Native American Law issues.
  • Draft and review intergovernmental agreements, Indian healthcare clinic contracts, leases, gaming compacts, and employment documents.
  • Advise tribal clients on land use issues, regulatory compliance, and legislative matters.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide general legal counsel to tribes and tribal entities.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing law, focusing on Native American Law and federal regulations impacting tribes.
  • Admission to the California and Arizona Bar.
  • Proven experience working directly with Native American communities.
  • Excellent academic credentials, with a solid academic record in relevant coursework.
  • Strong critical analytical and writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Superior time management and organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Indian gaming regulatory issues.
