Duties

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, software, and related technologies
  • Provide expert analysis of patent portfolios and offer strategic counsel regarding patent prosecution and litigation
  • Engage in communication with the USPTO and other patent offices, managing all aspects of the application process
  • Assist in the preparation of claims, responses, and other legal documents for patent filings
  • Collaborate closely with technical experts and attorneys to develop strategies for IP protection
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and standards in electrical engineering, wireless communication, and software-related technologies

Requirements

  • Proven experience in patent prosecution, with a background in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar technical fields
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO
  • 2-6 years of legal or technical experience in intellectual property law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • A background in chip design engineering or wireless communications (5G, 6G, 3GPP) is a plus, but not required

Education

  • A degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related technical field

Certifications

  • Registered to practice before the USPTO
