Duties:

  • Handle a significant volume of creditors' rights cases, including foreclosure and bankruptcy matters.
  • Engage in discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Participate in mentoring junior attorneys and collaborate with the legal team.
  • Assist in growing the firm’s presence and reputation within the industry.
  • Ensure superior client support by exercising sound judgment and proactive problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience preferred, but newly licensed attorneys will be considered.
  • Ability to handle a significant caseload within creditors' rights.
  • Experience in discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain industry relationships.
  • Familiarity with the Illinois legal system.
  • Must be able to make court appearances and travel as necessary.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar.
  • Additional bar licenses are a plus.
