Associate Attorney Civil Litigation and Trial Practice

Job Overview:

A respected recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join a well-established boutique civil litigation law firm in Brooklyn, NY. The firm handles a wide range of litigation cases in New York and New Jersey, including partnership disputes, contractor disagreements, business torts, breach of contract cases, fraud, foreclosure, wage and hour claims, and estate litigation. The role offers the opportunity to handle both state and federal cases, with a focus on providing high-quality legal representation. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience and be admitted to the New York bar, with additional preference given to those admitted in New Jersey.

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery demands and responses
• Appear in court for motions, hearings, and trials as needed
• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
• Take and defend depositions
• Manage civil litigation cases from inception through trial or resolution
• Represent clients in various disputes, including business, contract, and matrimonial cases
• Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to achieve successful case outcomes
• Participate in estate and family law litigation as required

Requirements:

• Litigation experience within a law firm environment
• Admission to the New York Bar (required)
• Preference for candidates admitted to the New Jersey state bar and local federal courts
• Experience in depositions and courtroom hearings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active New York Bar membership (required)
• New Jersey Bar admission (preferred)
