Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Washington, DC is looking for an experienced associate to join their dynamic IP Litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and high-profile patent litigation cases, providing hands-on experience in trial and PTAB proceedings. The ideal candidate will have experience in patent litigation, case management, and working with experts, alongside a strong legal background in intellectual property.

Duties:

• Manage patent litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Prepare and argue motions, manage depositions, and collaborate with experts.
• Provide leadership and guidance to junior associates and paralegals.
• Participate in PTAB or trial proceedings, and help shape case strategy.
• Oversee case management and ensure timely delivery of legal work.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of IP litigation experience, with a focus on patent prosecution and litigation.
• Proven experience in managing cases, depositions, and motions practice.
• Experience in PTAB or trial proceedings is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise junior associates or paralegals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Washington, DC, or have the ability to become licensed shortly after hire.
• Admission to the USPTO is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Superior communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Proven track record in IP litigation, including case strategy and client interaction.
