Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated attorney to join its Institutional Response Group, focusing on providing guidance and solutions for institutions navigating complex civil rights, Title IX, and regulatory compliance issues. This position involves advising on policy development, conducting investigations, and implementing trauma-informed and equitable processes. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on significant compliance and misconduct matters for educational institutions, corporations, healthcare providers, and other organizations.

Duties:

  • Conduct investigations into matters involving Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or related civil rights and criminal laws addressing harassment, discrimination, or abuse.
  • Assist institutions in implementing fair, impartial, and trauma-informed processes for prevention and resolution.
  • Develop and refine written policies, procedures, and educational materials for clients.
  • Provide guidance on Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Deliver comprehensive solutions for institutional safety, compliance, and governance.
  • Collaborate with diverse organizations, including educational institutions, corporations, hospitals, and non-profits.
  • Travel as required to support client needs and conduct on-site assessments or investigations.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience conducting investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or other civil rights and criminal law frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, including Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement trauma-informed and equitable processes.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational, leadership, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar licensure in the state where the position is based.

Skills:

  • Expertise in conducting sensitive and impartial investigations.
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance and policy development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Leadership and organizational skills to manage complex cases and processes.
