A law firm in Maitland, FL, is seeking a Business and Construction Litigation Associate Attorney to support senior attorneys in providing legal counsel to clients. The candidate will handle various litigation tasks including legal research, drafting documents, client communication, and courtroom representation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior attorneys in providing legal counsel and representation to clients in business and construction litigation matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters and provide strategic advice and solutions to clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and case documentation.
  • Meet billing and productivity goals as set by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in business and/or construction litigation preferred.
  • Judicial clerkship experience or demonstrated strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
