Duties

  • Manage and oversee divorce and custody cases from start to finish, including drafting pleadings and handling hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide case updates and legal advice, ensuring they are fully informed throughout the process.
  • Develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and prepare comprehensive legal documents.
  • Represent clients in family law court hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality case management and offer mutual support.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships by demonstrating empathy and providing exceptional service.
  • Utilize firm resources, including technology platforms, to streamline case management and communication.

Requirements

  • Active Bar admission in Utah (or the relevant state) is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in divorce and family law practice, including experience in custody cases.
  • Proven ability to handle a full caseload of divorce and family law matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Strong courtroom skills and experience representing clients in family law proceedings.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • A client-focused approach with a strong desire to provide the best possible service and results.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Utah State Bar membership or membership in another state bar where required.
