Job Overview
A prominent global law firm is seeking a Senior Projects Lawyer with 7+ years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy, energy transition, or oil & gas sectors, specifically in managing large-scale infrastructure projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects within the renewable energy and energy transition space, including energy storage, hydrogen, and carbon capture technologies. The successful candidate will work alongside developers, investors, and energy companies in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate key project documents, including EPC agreements, O&M agreements, equipment supply agreements, and PPAs.
  • Advise on risk allocation, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage complex project developments and contribute to strategy in high-profile renewable energy and energy transition projects.
  • Collaborate with leading developers, investors, and energy companies to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide strategic legal and business advice for large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically in the energy and construction sectors.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development.
  • Prior in-house experience at an energy company, developer, or infrastructure firm strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk allocation, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic legal advice.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects and energy transition technologies is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in relevant state(s).

Skills

  • Expertise in drafting, negotiating, and advising on construction, procurement, and development agreements.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and legal risks.
  • Experience with renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen, and carbon capture projects is a plus.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the business aspects of large-scale projects.
