Job Title: Managing Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Pittsford, NY, is seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to lead its regional legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in family and matrimonial law, with a focus on managing a team to meet performance targets and ensure the quality of legal services provided. This role involves overseeing a variety of operational and legal functions, including attorney performance management, recruitment, and client relationship cultivation.

Duties:

• Lead and supervise a regional legal team to meet designated KPIs and performance goals
• Assign and monitor cases for regional attorneys to ensure efficient workload distribution and quality outcomes
• Review regional attorney cases regularly to ensure adherence to high legal standards
• Prepare and present quarterly performance reports based on key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Conduct regular performance reviews and assist in setting goals for the regional legal team
• Facilitate the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new attorneys
• Support the training and professional development of new hires
• Participate in billing and account management meetings to ensure efficient office operations
• Collaborate with the legal development team to promote growth within the regional legal teams
• Foster strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• Must be a licensed attorney with a valid Bar membership
• At least 8 years of legal experience, with a preference for experience in family and matrimonial law
• Proven leadership and management skills with experience in overseeing teams
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in the state of New York
