Job Overview

A growing California-based law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Personal Injury & Civil Litigation Attorney to oversee and manage its litigation practice. This role is based in the Encino office and offers the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing staff, attending depositions, and working independently with performance-based incentives. Trial experience is valued but not required.

Duties

  • Oversee and manage the personal injury and civil litigation practice within the firm

  • Handle litigation files from intake through settlement or trial

  • Supervise support staff and collaborate with firm leadership on case strategy

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence

  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings

  • Support workers’ compensation department by assisting with depositions as needed

  • Contribute to firm growth by managing current cases and assisting in business development

  • Optionally bring in new cases (referral network or personal clientele preferred but not required)

Requirements

  • Experience handling personal injury and/or civil litigation matters

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple active cases

  • Strong interest in long-term growth and firm leadership opportunities

  • Willingness to take on management responsibilities and supervise team members

  • Business development or client referral experience is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of California (required)

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong case management and organizational abilities

  • Confident with depositions and court appearances

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting litigation documents
