Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Corporate Restructuring Associate to join its team. The position offers the opportunity to represent various parties, including debtors, official creditors’ committees, lenders, and asset purchasers, in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings. This role involves handling complex restructuring matters, including cross-border litigation, and is available in multiple U.S. locations. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of restructuring experience, including Chapter 11 proceedings.

Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings
  • Draft pleadings, including first-day motions, and plans of reorganization
  • Present and argue contested matters in court
  • Participate in client communications and case strategy discussions
  • Assist in the sale or purchase of distressed assets
  • Manage the liquidation process for orderly asset sales
  • Conduct claims reconciliation and objection processes
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements with creditors, lenders, and other parties-in-interest
  • Collaborate with official committees of unsecured creditors and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience with in-court and out-of-court restructurings, including Chapter 11 proceedings
  • Admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction applied for
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills
  • Experience handling client communications and managing casework

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of the office applied for

Skills:

  • Expertise in corporate restructuring and bankruptcy law
