Job Overview:
A respected law firm in Phoenix, AZ is currently seeking an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with up to 3 years of experience in immigration law. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in immigration law and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services to clients.

Location:
Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and offer strategic legal solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload of immigration matters, ensuring timely and effective case handling
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers
  • Prepare a wide range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and related documents
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration law
  • Provide strategic consultations to potential clients and determine appropriate legal strategies
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS interviews
  • Conduct legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients' cases
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law
  • Strong ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian relief, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with case management software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the bar (Arizona bar or eligible to waive into Arizona bar preferred)

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Arizona, or eligibility to waive in

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Time management skills and ability to handle a busy caseload
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other attorneys and staff
