A law firm in Manassas, VA, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in immigration law, demonstrate exceptional communication and management skills, and be able to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role requires handling a significant caseload, managing a team of paralegals, and engaging in various immigration-related legal tasks, including court hearings and client interactions. Fluency in Spanish is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high caseload, including day-to-day client interactions and case management.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of a large team of paralegals.
  • Meet with potential new clients to evaluate and strategize cases.
  • Develop and implement case strategies, ensuring timely and effective resolution of legal matters.
  • Prepare, revise, and file court documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on legislative changes and judicial case law affecting immigration.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials.
  • Train and supervise staff, ensuring high standards of legal work and effective case management.
  • Market the firm’s immigration services and cross-sell other legal practices within the firm.
  • Work one Saturday a month with the opportunity for performance bonuses based on new clients signed during these days.
  • Develop expertise in various immigration matters, including Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, and Waivers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of immigration law experience.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to handle a large caseload and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth practice environment.
  • Experience in training and supervising legal staff.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school (required).
  • Active Bar License in good standing from any U.S. State or Puerto Rico (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, including Family Petitions, Asylum, SIJIS, U-Visas, and Waivers.
  • Proficient in drafting and revising legal documents.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Effective organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are essential.
