Duties:

  • Prepare and review corporate documents and exemption applications for nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.
  • Conduct legal research on issues about nonprofit and tax-exempt laws.
  • Draft memoranda, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Advise clients on governance matters and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in tax or corporate/governance law, preferably focusing on nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations.
  • Strong academic credentials and admission to the applicable State Bar (New York Bar preferred).
  • Experience gained from private practice, government (IRS), or in-house counsel within the nonprofit sector is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
