Family Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney to join its team in Woodland Hills, CA. Duties:

• Handle family law cases, including child custody, child support, property division, and spousal support matters.
• Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
• Prepare legal documents, including petitions, motions, and discovery responses.
• Manage client communications and maintain strong client relationships.
• Assist in financial disclosures and document review, including understanding and utilizing financial documents and DissoMaster software.
• Conduct discovery procedures, including depositions and interrogatories.
• Provide legal advice to clients regarding their family law matters and potential outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable family law rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in case management.

Requirements:

• 2 to 5 years of experience in family law practice, preferably within a law firm environment.
• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar (no disciplinary record).
• Strong interest and passion for family law.
• Proven ability to handle family law matters including custody, support, and property division.
• Experience in preparing legal documents and filings for family law cases.
• Ability to represent clients in court, including LA and Ventura County courts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with after-hours email accessibility.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar license.

Skills:

• Expertise in family law, including child custody, child support, and property division.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on client relations and legal document preparation.
• Strong proficiency in discovery procedures, document preparation, and filing for family law matters.
• Familiarity with financial documents and DissoMaster software.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
• Proficiency in judicial council forms, MS Office, and PDF software.
