A law firm seeks an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join a highly regarded team in its Grand Rapids office. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in handling complex medical malpractice cases, from initiation to trial. With 10 to 20 years of experience, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-stakes cases and collaborate with seasoned legal professionals in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Duties:

  • Lead medical malpractice cases through all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, ensuring effective case progression.
  • Take and defend depositions, working closely with medical experts and other witnesses.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions in court to advance case objectives.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients, maintaining strong relationships throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with junior attorneys and other team members, offering mentorship and guidance.

Requirements:

  • 10 to 20 years of experience in medical malpractice litigation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases from inception to trial.
  • Strong experience in developing case strategies and handling depositions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of Michigan.

Skills:

  • Expertise in medical malpractice law, including case development, litigation strategy, and trial preparation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and drafting motions.
