Duties:

• Provide expert legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and responsibilities in criminal matters
• Prepare and review legal documents, including motions and case briefs
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings, offering strategic guidance post-hearing
• Lead court appearances, trials, and the drafting of legal motions
• Conduct interviews with witnesses and engage in detailed legal research to support case strategies
• Assess potential case outcomes by analyzing legal precedents and current case specifics
• Oversee the management of a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progress and effective legal action
• Gather additional evidence to strengthen cases or challenge the prosecution’s charges
• Prepare clients for depositions, outline key case strategies, and liaise with witnesses and expert witnesses for vital support

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of criminal defense experience, including complex cases
• Experience with both state and federal criminal cases is required
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not mandatory
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to client success

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Texas
