Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid/Remote options available)

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Attorney to join their federal court litigation practice. This role involves challenging delayed or denied immigration benefit petitions in federal courts and engaging in impact litigation related to administrative law principles and immigration regulations. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in federal court litigation and a strong grasp of administrative law.

Duties:

  • Analyze administrative records to develop legal grounds for challenging adverse agency decisions.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on immigration issues in federal court.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for submission to federal courts.
  • Represent clients in oral arguments before federal judges.
  • Present litigation strategies to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s marketing team on business development and promotional efforts.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the client base and administrative law as it applies to immigration matters.
  • Partner with colleagues to address client needs, exchange insights, and support ongoing projects.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress and procedural updates.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active Bar admission.
  • At least 5 years of experience in federal court litigation, with a solid foundation in administrative law.
  • Prior experience in litigation for the federal government is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a client-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Excellent multitasking ability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Availability for occasional travel to the firm’s Philadelphia office (approximately two times per year).
  • Openness to attending networking conferences and business development events.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Expertise in federal court litigation.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, particularly related to immigration and administrative law.
  • Ability to draft legal documents with precision and clarity.
  • Oral advocacy skills for court appearances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
