Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Baltimore, MD, seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney specializing in Personal Injury cases. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of litigation, from case initiation to trial, providing strategic counsel and ensuring effective communication with clients and team members.

Duties:

• Manage day-to-day handling of motor vehicle and other personal injury cases in litigation.
• Gather necessary documents, evidence, and information related to claims.
• Prepare demand letters and negotiate settlement offers.
• Draft and file litigation documents including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, demands, motions, and memoranda.
• Represent clients in trials at District and Circuit Courts throughout Maryland.
• Provide guidance and counsel to clients, ensuring effective communication and understanding of legal processes.
• Conduct medical reviews and negotiate settlements as required.
• Open new case files, create litigation plans, and oversee discovery processes.
• Utilize strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Lead and manage legal teams effectively, demonstrating strong leadership abilities.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Maryland State Bar; additional bar admissions in neighboring states beneficial.
• Minimum 5 years of documented experience as a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney.
• At least 3 years of trial experience in District and Circuit Courts.
• Thorough understanding of Maryland Personal Injury law and procedural rules.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle a large caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing legal teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
