Professional Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Torrance, CA is seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney to independently manage a caseload of professional liability matters, including malpractice cases involving attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents. The ideal candidate will handle cases from inception through resolution, communicate effectively with clients, and possess superior academic credentials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, handling professional liability matters from inception to resolution.
• Communicate directly with clients, providing regular status reports and legal advice.
• Handle a diverse range of professional liability cases, including malpractice claims against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences as required.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex litigation matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar (active and in good standing).
• 4+ years of experience in professional liability, accounting malpractice, and/or commercial litigation.
• Superior academic credentials, demonstrating excellence in legal research and writing.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.
