Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in Modesto, CA. This role involves managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with the Criminal Defense Team. The ideal candidate will handle complex criminal cases and provide strategic legal counsel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and oversee a personal caseload.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents pertinent to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings and provide strategic guidance to clients post-hearing.
• Manage court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and applicable law.
• Accumulate additional evidence to support clients' positions or challenge prosecution arguments.
• Prepare clients for depositions and develop case strategies with input from witnesses and experts.
• Collaborate effectively with the Criminal Defense Team to strategize and manage cases.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in criminal defense.
• Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Effective case management and strategic planning capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.

Certifications:

• Active Bar license (CA preferred).
